the village of oxford produces and treats its own water at our state of the art water treatment plant.
Our water system is under the jurisdiction of the Michigan Dept. of Environment Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). Water quality reports are available at the link below or at the Village offices Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 5:00 p.m.
An environmental emergency is a sudden threat to the public health or the well-being of the environment from the release or potential release of oil, radioactive materials, or hazardous chemicals into the air, land, or water. Report environmental emergencies to the:

This hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During daytime hours, you may also contact the appropriate district office directly.
NOTE: Many incidents that are reportable to EGLE also warrant reporting to the federal National Response Center which serves the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard: Federal NRC hotline: 800-424-8802

As of January 1, 2018, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) requires that Water suppliers only accept backflow prevention assembly tests performed and signed by an American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) Standard 5110 certified tester. Please note that you are responsible to hire and pay for any services performed. We neither endorse nor recommend individual testers. However, we suggest you contact several firms for price quotes, comparisons and to verify ASSE certifications are valid and current prior to making your selection.
